If you’re anything like me, you’ve been absolutely crushing Anime Vanguards and constantly looking for the next powerful unit to dominate the battlefield. Well, let me tell you about the Company Captain – this fire-wielding powerhouse has completely transformed how I approach burn team compositions, and I’m excited to share everything I’ve learned about mastering this incredible unit.
The Company Captain (Hybrid) is Benimaru Shinmon from the popular anime Fire Force, brought to life in Anime Vanguards as part of Update 10.5. This unit isn’t just another character – he’s a game-changer for anyone running burn teams, with mechanics that reward strategic gameplay and positioning. What makes him particularly special is his unique blend of area damage, debuffs, and self-buffing capabilities that scale incredibly well in late-game content.
What really caught my attention when I first started using him was how his abilities synergize perfectly with other fire units. The Company Captain isn’t just about raw damage (though he certainly delivers that); he’s about creating devastating chain reactions that can wipe out entire waves of enemies before they even get close to your base.
I’ll be honest – I wasn’t immediately sold on the Company Captain when he first dropped. But after spending dozens of hours testing different builds and team compositions, I’ve completely fallen in love with this unit. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching his broom mechanics play out, especially when you time the selling mechanic perfectly and unleash a massive AoE explosion that clears half the screen.
What really sets him apart for me is how he rewards active gameplay. Unlike some units where you just place them and forget, the Company Captain requires you to pay attention to his broom count, enemy positioning, and timing. This makes every match feel engaging, and when you pull off the perfect broom launch combo, it’s genuinely exciting.
Getting your hands on this powerhouse isn’t easy, but trust me – it’s worth the effort. To obtain the Company Captain, you’ll need to complete Floor 50 of Worldlines Season 9. This is no small feat, and I spent weeks grinding through the earlier floors before finally breaking through.
Here’s my strategy for tackling Worldlines Season 9:
Keep in mind that the Company Captain is a limited unit, meaning he won’t be available forever. If you’re serious about adding him to your roster, you’ll want to start grinding Worldlines Season 9 as soon as possible.
Let me break down each of his incredible abilities:
This is his signature mechanic and honestly my favorite part about playing him. Every attack creates a broom behind him (up to 5 maximum). When you sell him with brooms active, he unleashes all of them simultaneously, each dealing 80% of his damage and applying the Scorched effect in a small area.
Pro tip: Press the sell button once to activate the ability without actually selling him. You need to press it twice to actually sell him, which prevents accidental activations.
This passive makes the Company Captain incredibly effective against debuffed enemies. Whenever he damages an enemy with Conflagration, he automatically applies Nullify. Additionally, each time he launches a broom, he buffs his own damage by 2%, stacking up to a maximum of 50%. This self-buffing capability means he gets stronger as the fight goes on.
This passive is perfect for lazy players like me who sometimes forget to manually activate abilities. When an enemy inflicted with Conflagration dies, he automatically fires a broom at that location with a 5-second cooldown. It’s a great way to maintain pressure across the battlefield without constant micromanagement.
This is where the Company Captain truly shines for burn teams. His attacks apply Burn for 50% of his damage over 8 seconds. When attacking enemies already afflicted with Burn, he applies Conflagration, which stays active as long as the Burn effect persists.
The best part? When Conflagration triggers a burn tick, it also damages up to 3 enemies in a small radius around the target. Think of it as Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack but with fire and better area coverage!
Once you’ve unlocked his Memoria, the Company Captain reaches an entirely new level of power. His Memoria abilities include:
This passive enhances his team support capabilities, providing additional fire damage to allies within range. It’s particularly effective in full burn team compositions where every unit benefits from the increased fire damage output.
His Memoria significantly improves the broom system, allowing for faster generation and increased damage output. The brooms now have a larger area of effect and can chain to additional targets, making his selling mechanic even more devastating.
With his Memoria unlocked, the Company Captain amplifies all burn effects on the battlefield, making him the centerpiece of any serious burn team. This includes increasing burn duration, damage, and the radius of area effects.
Through extensive testing, I’ve found several team compositions that work incredibly well with the Company Captain:
This composition maximizes his burn synergy and creates devastating chain reactions across the battlefield.
This setup offers more versatility and works well in modes with diverse enemy types.
While we’re on the topic of getting ahead in Anime Vanguards, here are some working codes I’ve found recently:
Note: Codes expire quickly, so use them as soon as possible!
The Company Captain was introduced in Update 10.5, which brought several exciting changes:
After hundreds of matches with the Company Captain, here are my top tips:
Absolutely! He’s completely transformed my burn team performance and made previously impossible stages manageable.
While Ice Queen is excellent, the Company Captain offers more long-term value for burn team enthusiasts. If you already have a solid ice team, go for Company Captain.
He’s definitely top-tier, especially for burn-focused content. His unique mechanics set him apart from traditional DPS units.
While he can function in other compositions, you’re really missing out on his full potential if you’re not running a burn team.
The Company Captain has quickly become one of my favorite units in Anime Vanguards, and for good reason. His unique mechanics, devastating damage output, and incredible team synergy make him a must-have for any serious player. While the grind to Floor 50 of Worldlines Season 9 might seem daunting, trust me when I say the payoff is absolutely worth it.
Whether you’re a veteran player looking to optimize your burn teams or a newcomer wanting to start with a powerful unit, the Company Captain delivers on all fronts. Give him a try, experiment with different team compositions, and I’m confident you’ll see why he’s become such a game-changing addition to Anime Vanguards.
